Memephisto Netiquette
Welcome to Memephisto, a space for bold opinions, controversy, and unfiltered debate. Here, we encourage freedom of expression and open discussion. However, to maintain a balance between provocative content and respectful discourse, we ask all users to adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Respect Different Opinions
Memephisto thrives on diverse perspectives, but remember, everyone is entitled to their view. Challenge ideas, not individuals. Personal attacks, bullying, and harassment will not be tolerated.
2. Humor with Limits
We appreciate satire, trolling, and edgy humor, but there’s a line between being provocative and being abusive. Avoid content that targets specific individuals or groups in a way that promotes hate or violence.
3. Stay On-Topic
We love a good tangent, but try to stay relevant to the categories you post in. If you’re diving into Conspiracy Theories, we want your wildest ideas about the moon landing—not what you had for breakfast.
4. Keep It Legal
Discussions around controversial topics are encouraged, but make sure your content does not promote illegal activities or violate local laws. This includes posting defamatory content, spreading illegal misinformation, or inciting violence.
5. No Hate Speech or Extremism
Provocative is good. Hate speech isn’t. Racism, sexism, homophobia, or any other form of discrimination has no place on this platform. Opinions can be strong without being hateful.
6. Avoid Spam and Clickbait
Post content that contributes to meaningful discussion. Repetitive, irrelevant, or promotional posts (outside of designated categories) will be removed. We’re not here for ads; we’re here for real opinions.
7. Troll Responsibly
Trolling is an art, but don’t take it too far. If your trolling crosses the line into harassment or purposeful harm, expect consequences. Clever, humorous trolling is always better than toxic behavior.
8. Disinformation and Fake News
Be aware of the difference between expressing an opinion and spreading disinformation. Discussions in Fake News, Lies & Misinformation, and Debunked Claims should encourage fact-checking and critical thinking, not spread falsehoods.
9. Stay Civil, Even When You Disagree
Debating is encouraged, and we want you to express strong opinions. But keep it civil. Offensive language, when aimed at ideas, is fine—but using it to attack other users isn’t.
10. Report Abuses, Don’t Engage
If you come across content that violates this netiquette, report it to us instead of engaging in a flame war. We’ll handle it from there.
11. Protect Personal Information
Respect the privacy of others. Do not share personal information, such as addresses, phone numbers, or any other private details, without explicit permission. This includes both your own and others' information.
12. Constructive Feedback
When providing feedback, aim to be constructive and helpful. Criticism should be aimed at improving the discussion or content, not at belittling or attacking the individual. Constructive feedback fosters a positive and productive community.
Consequences for Violating the Netiquette
Memephisto is all about freedom of expression, but abuse of that freedom will result in temporary or permanent suspensions. In extreme cases, we may ban users and remove their content entirely.
13. Main Language is English
All posts and comments must be in English. This ensures that everyone can participate in and understand the discussions. Posts in other languages will be deleted.
14. Check Spelling and Grammar
Before submitting your posts or comments, please check for spelling and grammar errors. Clear and well-written content helps maintain the quality of discussions and makes your points easier to understand.
Let’s make Memephisto a space where ideas are challenged, opinions are heard, and humor pushes boundaries without breaking them.
